  • Chisholm Trail Road/Big Event

We LOVE our Great state of Texas!  And as you have supported the store, we like to support those in our Texas Community!

    History of the Chisholm Trail
Just after the Civil War, Texas was chock full of wayward cattle, but almost completely bankrupt. Ranchers soon figured out that fortunes were to be had if they could get their cattle to the railheads in Abilene, Kansas. Started by Joseph G. McCoy, these cattle-shipping terminals reached beef-starved cities across the U.S.

In 1864 Scot-Cherokee Jesse Chisholm began hauling trade to Indian camps near modern Wichita. Though it was originally applied only to the trail north of the Red River, Texas cattlemen soon gave Chisholm’s name to the entire trail from south of San Antonio up to Kansas.

Cattle drives on the Chisholm Trail ended with the invention of barbed wire, and an 1885 Kansas quarantine law. Considered by some to be the original Texas Highway, it saw between 6 and 10 million cattle, and a million mustangs driven by up it’s famed route. As the greatest migration of livestock in world history, it’s estimated that some 35,000 cowboys worked the trail. The Chisholm Trail almost single handedly brought Texas out of the post-Civil War depression, helped provide beef for the entire country, and made famous the image of the American cowboy, and life on the wide-open range.

  • Do Mom’s really know best, when it comes to fashion???

For as long as I can remember my mom has influenced my fashion! Even at 28, I still look for her approval. I’m not yet a mother , but I know if my daughter is anything like me I will do my best to bite my tongue and support her fashion choices, much like my mother has done! After my naked baby phase ended, I went on to be the child that mixed stripes with plaids, never matched my socks and wore boy band shirts. This did however earn me the “best dressed” award in the fourth grade (Heritage Elementary)! Then in high school, you would always find me with 10 different butterfly clips in my hair, a floral dress paired with Converse sneakers! As long as I was covered, my mom was always there to encourage my style which in turn built my self esteem! My message here is to be BOLD, don’t stick with the norm! Our goal in the store is to make you feel beautiful in our clothing but most importantly comfortable and confident! If I’ve learned anything from my mom it would be: you wear the clothes, they don’t wear you! ~Robin

  • Why shop a boutique and not a chain...

Two years ago I was the ultimate bargain shoppers buying tops for $3 on sale tables at stores like Forever 21 and Old Navy. Great price, but there’s a catch, the clothing never looks right after you launder it or a seem starts to rip…I could go on and on. When I joined The Pink Hanger Ashley (owner) and Cindy (manager) taught me that by paying a little more for a garment you get a better quality, the piece lasts longer and the fit it 100% better! They were so right, not only am I getting more compliments on my clothing, I just feel better in the fit and fabrics! Buying a few great pieces verses a ton of semi-ok ones makes a huge difference now and in the long run! These pieces will last you through many many seasons to come! So the lesson here is: Buy for quality not quantity!~Robin

  • Trends: Do's and Dont's

As a specialty boutique we are always looking to stock the store with the latest hot items, right from the runway! This spring we have filled the store with a variety of oranges and corals! These colors go great with all skin types and will brighten any outfit. From a Khaki short to a dark skinny jean, the “it” color of the season can be seen in every fashion mag and is a must for any wardrobe! Going this bold in a top not your thing?? No problem, we have earrings with a hint of the trendy carroty color paired with gold, TO DIE FOR! Just because the color is exciting and new, we do not recommend wearing it from head to toe, try and stay away from being too matchy-matchy! Think statement pieces!

  • Easy Breezy Re-cap

Ashley and Cindy just took Market by storm. Market is where we go to get some of the clothing and accessories that The Pink Hanger sells. They had a blast while they were there. I can’t think of anywhere besides The Pink Hanger where you can be working and having fun.

We wanted to provided entertainment and show that The Pink Hanger offers items not just for young girls, but items for women of all ages. • A Little Birdie Told Me featuring Zartist Design

The Pink Hanger would like to welcome our new vendor, A Little Birdie Told Me. We are so excited to have the opportunity to have them and their featured item, Zartis Design crosses.

Zartist is a company that makes crosses using old railroad nails and mineral rocks. The combination of the nails and rocks is breathtaking.

Ron and Anita Glazer founded Zartis Design in 2009. The pair drew their inspiration from the walks they took along the railroad tracks in Flagstaff, Arizona. Soon after the couple made their first cross they found out their oldest son, Zach, had stage four liver disease. Making the crosses has helped encourage them during his sudden illness. It has also given them hope that he will receive the liver transplant that he needs.

  • 2 Years Already!

We have now officially been open in The Villages of Colleyville for 2 years now! The Pink Hanger has actually been open a total of three years. The Pink Hanger was in Paige’s for a year before moving to The Villages. We are so excited to have hit this milestone. Not only is the 2-year mark exciting, but also we are really looking forward to many more years. And hopefully, in the future we will be able to open more stores to better serve our clients!

But it’s not us that keeps the business running, it is you, our customers. We sincerely appreciate your patronage throughout the years. We are lucky to have THE BEST customers in the world! You make it easy for us to do our job of providing great customer service. So we would like to thank you!

  • Movin’ and a shakin’!

The store is going through a major transformation in the back area! We are expanding the children’s clothing section and our home décor. It not only looks amazing, it will give you more options to choose from.

We are really excited about the transformation and hope that you are too. We expect that it will help make The Pink Hanger more of a one-stop shop for you. You will be able to get your clothing and home goods as well, all in one place.

We would love to hear your feed back on our new look. So any suggestions would be much appreciated!

  • Spring Trends

As spring approaches new trends are emerging. This seasons colors are light colors, think of Easter as a color palette guide. Mauve and light pinks, pastel teal, and light yellows are all big colors this year. Of course those colors can’t take up your entire wardrobe, but they are a great start.

As far as patterns and textures go, vintage florals are in!! You will see florals on everything/everywhere. And we can’t forget about ruffles, they still have a big place in fashion. Ruffles adorn the tops of dresses, sides of clothes, and bottoms of dresses. You will also be seeing a lot more lace. Also, remember to add an awesome thick belt and great accessories, like big earrings, to really spruce up your outfit. This season, the more feminine, the better!

Also, this spring thelatest styles are loose cloth shorts with bold patterns, paired with tucked in layered tanks. You take the top tank and blouse it out and it looks adorable. Long skirts that go down to your ankles are also making their way into the scene. You will notice clothing is very comfortable, flowy, and extremely feminine this season.

  • Market Week!

Last week we went to Market at the World Trade Center, it was so much fun. Market is where we go to buy some of the clothes we carry for the coming season. It was my first time to go, I felt like I was taken into the biggest mall ever where I was able to be a part of the buying experience for The Pink Hanger. It was a very long, but fun day.

While we were there we got to meet with the designer and co-owner of ERGE Designs, Frank Quijada. ERGE Designs is an awesome new line that The Pink Hanger will be carrying this spring. Tons of celebrities are wearing ERGE, like Jennifer Aniston, Tori Spelling, Denise Richards and many more.

We have tons of clothes and shoes that we will be rolling out soon. So make sure you come by often to see the awesome ERGE line and the latest arrivals.

  • Valentine’s Day is almost here!

Every year not only do my husband and I exchange gifts and sweet note, I also exchange small gifts and letter of appreciation to my parents and sisters. I do this because it is another opportunity to show I care.

At The Pink Hanger we have the perfect selection of decorations and gifts for the special people in your life. Not only do we have love themed items, we have great other gift options like our Cattiva makeup, which we can wrap up in one of our cute pink, Pink Hanger, bags. • Earrings are BIG this year

Have you noticed that all the celebrities have been wearing huge earrings this year? That’s because they are hot! Big earrings draw attention.

They are also very feminine. If you are in need of an outfit booster all you have to do is grab a pair of giant earrings. They will take your outfit to the next level. The large size makes it easier for you to chose shapes and styles that stand out and show off your personality.

Now all you have to do is get yourself some and you will be ready to go. Luckily we can help you out.

Here are some celebrities that rock big earrings:

  • You know what you’ll get here

  • I wear nice clothes because…

I am a stay at home Mom, but I still get dressed and ready to go everyday. I do this because it makes me feel good about myself and it makes me feel accomplished. Even if I don’t go out of the house, I feel like I did something.

I like to wear Pink Hanger clothes because they suit my style. Not just mine, but many people. It is all about what you put together. Different articles of clothing paired together look different on every person. I am lucky enough to have four coworkers to help me make decisions about clothing that fits not only my personality, but my budget as well.

Since I have been wearing “stylish”clothes, I feel more confident. I am now that person who I thought looked cute, but said “I couldn’t pull that off.” But I can and now I do! It's an awesome feeling!

    As always, stay pink

  • Are you transitioning your wardrobe?

Have you ever wondered why at The Pink Hanger there are items out year round that seem like they should only fit in one season? Well we have a couple of reasons for this.

First off, nearly all the clothes we carry are transitional. When we say transitional we mean that they will take you throughout all of the seasons. For example, I purchased the dress shown here in the summer. But now that it’s winter I am still able to wear it. All I did was add leggings, an undershirt and boots. As it gets even colder I can even throw on a coat and keep myself even toastier.

Secondly, many of our clients are jetsetters. We have people coming in looking for “summery” clothes in the middle of the winter because they are taking a cruise to the Bahamas, or heading out to some other warm destination.

We like to make sure when you shop at The Pink Hanger you are getting the most out of your investment because we truly appreciate all of our clients. If you need help transitioning your wardrobe come see us, we are happy to help.

    As always, stay pink

  • Accessories Make the Difference

I used to think that if a shirt was  plain that I couldn’t wear it by itself. I thought I could only wear it under other clothing.

Since then I have had an epiphany, you can dress it up with some cute accessories. It’s amazing what jewelry and belts can do. You can never have too much jewelry on, just ask Cindy :)

Today I put together a plain black shirt, added a belt, necklace, earrings and bracelet, now I’m ready to go out with confidence.

Then I decided to accessorize a plain maroon turtleneck. I tried two different sets of jewelry with this one.

So invest in some great accessories and you can make your wardrobe go even

    As always, stay pink

  • Food Drive

Tarrant Area Food Bank is the distribution hub of a 13-county network of hunger-relief charities and social services centers. As a central clearinghouse for donated food and groceries, the Food Bank receives fresh, frozen and nonperishable food donated by the food industry and the community. They distribute this product from their 69,000 square-foot warehouse in Fort Worth to their 300 partner agencies that serve abuse victims, children, the elderly, the chronically ill, the unemployed, the working poor, the homeless and other Texans in need.

After Thanksgiving, The Pink Hanger teamed up with the Tarrant Area Food Bank to help get the needy the nourishment they need. The Pink Hanger gave clients the opportunity to save a little money and help the Tarrant Area Food Bank at the same time. For each canned good donated clients were able to get 5% off on one Pink Hanger item. Because of your generous donations, The Pink Hanger was able to donate over 150 pounds of food! We are so proud that you were able to help make this possible.

As always, stay pink and generous

  • The Pink Hanger Girls Night Out

On Wednesday some of the Pink Hanger girls got together for an evening of fun. We started the evening at my house where we enjoyed a glass of wine and Diet Coke for some of us (Lacy is in high school). Then we headed to Dallas to have dinner at Hibiscus.

We chatted about what has been happening at the store, things we would like to do at the store in the future and we of course squeezed in a bit of girl talk. We are so lucky to have each other as coworkers and friends. I can’t think of a place I would rather work.

One of my favorite events of the night was the toasts that Cindy gave to each of us girls. Her kind words touched us all. It is nice to hear how you impact people’s lives and that you as an individual are appreciated.

I hope each and every one of you is able to have such great people in your professional and/or personal lives.

    As always, stay pink

  • I used to be a non-belter

Belts are in. I am talking about the kinds that go over your clothing to accentuate your body and your clothes. I must tell you, I didn’t used to see the point of belting for me. I thought it was for “other people.” Working at The Pink Hanger has changed my ways for the better.

I had a black and pink dress I loved, but it was very lose fitting. I was wearing the dress one day and Ashley, the storeowner asked me if I had ever thought about wearing it with a belt. It had never crossed my mind. She pulled a belt off the rack and had me put it on. Needless to say, I looked way hotter and slimmer. Slimmer is something I am definitely all about. That day I bought two staple belts (black and brown).

After work we went to my house and proceeded to my closet to go through the things that should probably be worn with a belt. It was amazing how many of my outfits look better because of a belt. I am now a beltaholic. My collection has rapidly grown since then.

Below is an assortment of belts we offer. If you would like a belting lesson or just a new belt, come by The Pink Hanger, we’ll fix you up.

  • Call It Captivate

Call It Captivate (CIC) is a clothing line with a purpose, which is one of the reasons we choose to carry it at The Pink Hanger. CIC was started to bring art, purpose, fashion and generosity together.

DFW native Bryce Avary founded the company after touring with his band, The Rocket Summer. Through touring he was exposed to unfortunate realties that exist. He combined his creative talents to make a difference in the world. 20% of proceeds are donated to 1 of 5 charities he supports.

We at The Pink Hanger try to do our best in supporting local charities and causes. We hope we inspire you to do the same.

  • Tis the season

Are you having trouble finding the perfect gift for someone in your life? We offer a wide variety of gift option. PJ Salvage pajamas have been a big hit this season. Not to mention the plethora of jewelry we have. Come in the store and we can help tailor a gift for someone important in your life.

Just today a client came in the store looking for earrings for her daughters. They each had very specific taste. We were able to find two pairs for each daughter. After we gift wrapped them (for free) she was ready to go. A short trip to the store is all it takes to complete your shopping list!

  • Mary Kay Christmas

Last night we had dinner at Mary Kay’s house. Mary Kay is the vendor that has the home goods at The pink Hanger. We had a blast.

We began the night with hor d’ourves and pomegranate martinis. They were both fantastic. After that we sat down to one of the best dinners I have ever had. Mary Kay kept it simple with breaded chicken, smashed potatoes (I learned they were not mashed because they still had the skins on) and asparagus. It was a time to relax with coworkers and for The Pink Hanger that word also means family.

Once we were through eating Mary Kay drug out pants that she still owned from the 80’s. There was a pair of stretchy leopard print pants and a pair of BLUE leather pants. Ashley tried on the blue leather pants and we have pictures to prove it!

We had a wonderful time and Mary Kay was a very generous hostess. I can’t wait to get together with The Pink Hanger girls soon. I’m sure soon will be sooner (Boomer Sooner!) rather than later.

  • It's for Cash

    Hello Ladies,

Yesterday some of The Pink Hanger team attended a charity lunch at Cathy Romack’s house. Each year Cathy organizes a lunch that local women attend. Each person brings a new item to be used in the silent auction. The items are auctioned to help local charities and families.

This year The Pink Hanger chose to support Cash Michael, a 10-month-old baby with blindness caused by the underdevelopment of his optic nerves. Baby Cash has hope of a cure, but only if he can go to China for a procedure that is not yet available in the U.S. If you would also like to help baby Cash see you can go to www.hopeforcash.blogspot.com/ .

  • The Pink Hanger Fashion Show

    Good Day Ladies!

On December 1st The Pink Hanger put on a Fashion Show at the 2010 Northeast Tarrant Tennis (NETT) Annual Luncheon. One of The Pink Hanger’s own, Robin Martin, organized and emceed the Fashion Show. Over 220 people attended the event to celebrate another year of promoting the game of tennis among adults and juniors in the Northeast Tarrant area. The Pink Hanger feels privileged to have been a part of such a great event.

During the show Lacey Luttrell (also a Pink Hanger employee) sported PJ Salvage’s Holiday Pajama’s and danced to Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas Is You,” the crowd loved it. The amazing models were some of the Grapevine High School Fillies. The Pink Hanger owner, Ashley Boatwright, was also there showing support for her employees and NETT.

Overall, the event was a huge success. If you would like The Pink Hanger to put on a fashion show for your event please come by and see us or call 817-503-9753.

  • Oh for shelving sake!

    Hiya Ladies,

So over the weekend we got a few new shelves put in. It was quite the feat. We started early Sunday morning and stayed into the evening. We had to move all kinds of stuff around to accommodate the new additions. Luckily we had two very skilled gentlemen installing them for us, they even helped move the product to make room.

We are excited about the new additions and have already started to make it seem like they have always been there. Now you need to come in and see the new stuff that we have put on them!

  • Dress Up Parties

    Hey Ladies!

Just a quick note about last night's two dress up parties. We went to two clients' houses and paired their current attire with The Pink Hanger options. We spent one hour at each home to show ladies how their current wardrobe was able to correspond with The Pink Hanger selections. We kicked off each event with a great bottle of wine and friendly conversation. If you are interested in this kind of opportunity, please come by The Pink Hanger for more information or call 817-503-9753! This is a great way to see your wardrobe in a different light.
